Secondly Turkish Patent (TP) does worldwide novelty research by using tools like Google Image. If your designs’ photos are published in any medium more than a year before the application date than the application canceled immediately. If novelty of the design is approved than Turkish Patent (TP) runs a similarity research thru her (and other international IP institutions) archives. Generally this period takes up to 2 months. If there is a similarity with another design that registered before than Defans Patent attorneys prepare response in 2 months time. Thirdly your designs’ application is published in Design Bulletin (once in a month) and a 3 month time starts for the oppositions.
Last but not the least, your application will be registered within 1-2 months if no opposition is received by Turkish Patent (TP).

DESIGN RENEWALS IN TURKEY
The design registration protection is 5 years. In every 5 years time, the design owners can renew the registration if they want to up to 4 times. That means 25 years in total. The renewal period of a registered design begins 6 months before the expiration date. Design registrations could be renewed within the 6 months after expiration time with a late renewal fee.
